Four days to discover the Etruscan Coast (Costa degli Etruschi) and Tuscany coast, a magnificent bike trip that will take you from Volterra, famous for the mining and processing of alabaster, and its imposing walls of Etruscan origin, to the sea of the Tuscan coast and the pretty village of Castiglione della Pescaia.
Ride beside white sandy beaches, breathe the warm sea breeze and explore the countryside surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. In the final part of the trip you will explore the heart of the Maremma, a wild region still uncontaminated by the tourist explosion.
The tour will take you in the famous Bolgheri wine region, home to the famous labels of Ornellaia and Sassicaia.
A local staff and a wine expert will lead you to discover all the secrets of Bolgheri DOC wine, cycling surrounded by beautiful views and seaside villages while visiting different wineries each day.

58 km – Elevation gain: 440 meters
The first stage will take you from Volterra to the tuscan sea of Costa degli Etruschi, along one of the most beautiful panoramic roads.
After a long descent, immersed in the typical Tuscan countryside, we will reach the southern area of Val di Cecina up to the village of Casale Marittimo, with a beautiful view over the Tyrrhenian coast.
We will then ride direction of Bolgheri, also known for its Viale dei Cipressi, a cypress-lined avenue immortalized in the poem “San Guido” by Giosuè Carducci. Bolgheri is a perfect break for a walk through the characteristic shops and for a typical lunch.
After lunch we’ll cycle along the Strada del Vino Bolgheri, really nice road surrounded by vineyards. This region is one of the most prestigious wine regions in Italy, in addition to the wine Bolgheri DOC you also have the chanche to taste the Super Tuscans, a red wines that revolutionized the Italian winemaking industry
Before arriving at the next hotel, we will stop for a wine tour and tasting at the winery Guado al Melo.

50 km – Elevation gain: 460 meters
Today’s bike ride will be one of the most beautiful stages of the tour, a picturesque back road leads you through chestnut and cork forests direction the hilltop towns of Costa degli Etruschi. Reach the pretty village of Castagneto Carducci after breakfast, an enchanting town on a hill overlooking the sea.
Afterward, continue cycling to the village of Sassetta, perched on a hill in the hinterland of the Etruscan Coast, made up of narrow streets and small squares. Enjoy a coffee break and reach Suvereto, a perfectly preserved town of Roman origin, where we’ll stop for lunch.
Along the way to the next hotel we will stop for a wine tour and tasting in one of the many farms producing a wonderful wine, so characteristic that has obtained the DOCG designation.

64 km – Elevation gain: 610 meters
The last stage will take you to Castiglione della Pescaia, a characteristic seaside village perched on a promontory of the Maremma coast. Castiglione is also an exclusive summer tourist destination, known for its crystal-clear sea and pine forests that continue to Marina di Grosseto.
You will have the opportunity to choose a nice off-road for MTB, pedaling along the coast, between coves such as Cala Violina and breathtaking views up to Punta Ala. For this route, MTB will be provided with an extra charge of € 25 per bike.
Otherwise, you can choose a quiet road deep in the Maremma hinterland up to Tirli, a village where it is easy to understand how life was in the past in Maremma region. During this stage we’ll visit a local winery and taste another good wine.
Enjoy a relaxing afternoon, fine sandy beach and crystal clear waters before the final dinner.
